The aims of our website
Inevitably, we cannot change all these long-standing stereotypes, intolerances, and inequality issues in many countries overnight. However, we strongly believe that every small success contributes to lifting the optimism of those affected. It sends the vital message that no one on this planet should feel coerced into a sense of inferiority simply because of a physical disability. Every step forward helps build a foundation for greater understanding, inclusion, and acceptance.

You know you're not supposed to stare at people with disabilities. But why not? What if you accidentally see an amputee who was attractive and looked great? Why should you turn your head away? And furthermore, why isn't this person supposed to be attractive? Clearly there is a barrier between people with disabilities, especially amputees, and those who feel themselves attracted to them and want to know them better, and vice-versa. That is blatant prejudice and it needs to change.

Who is Behind All This?
This website was inspired by Mina, who lost her left leg above the knee in a tragic traffic accident. Since childhood, she had dreamed of becoming a professional model. A turning point came when she entered a modeling competition a few years ago. Ashamed of her condition, she initially hid the fact that she wore a prosthetic leg. It wasn’t until the final round of the contest that the judges noticed her prosthetic, leading to her immediate disqualification.
This painful experience became the driving force behind creating this platform—a space dedicated to empowering individuals with physical disabilities to pursue careers as professional models. AmpWorld also seeks to inspire optimism, foster self-confidence, and challenge societal biases by reducing prejudice against people with disabilities globally. By sharing stories of resilience, we highlight the incredible strength of the human spirit.
Society's acceptance of people with disabilities varies significantly across countries. In the United States, for instance, wearing uncovered prosthetics is fairly common, while in the Netherlands, an annual modeling contest for individuals with disabilities is broadcast in prime time by a major television network. Conversely, in many Eastern European countries, discrimination against people with disabilities remains prevalent, often leaving them socially marginalized. This kind of intolerance can be a significant barrier to maintaining a positive outlook on life and achieving aspirations.
Witnessing such injustices firsthand has been deeply distressing and heartbreaking. Our goal with this website is to help break these barriers, promote inclusion, and show the world that beauty, strength, and confidence exist in many forms. We hope our efforts contribute to a more inclusive, compassionate society.
