Andrea had a good childhood. As a teenager she met up with the wrong people – heavy-metal music, piercings and alcohol were the result. Drugs and tattoos were her interests. She just lived for the day. With the encouragement of her boyfriend, she let herself be tattooed and never missed any opportunity to get drunk and have fun with her friends. Everything changed when her boyfriend left her and she felt helpless and alone. She began to drink even more and didn’t really know what she was doing. Somehow she ended up on the railway lines. A train came along and hit her. She can only remember waking up in hospital. The doctors told her she was lucky that she only lost her right leg. She could have been killed. After this terrible accident, Andrea really knew that she would have to break away from her old friends. Andrea is not sad that she is an amputee, but is glad to have another opportunity to find happiness in life. Usually, she goes out with crutches, because her prosthesis does not fit properly and with crutches she feels more mobile. Andrea loves the sea and sunsets and would grateful for any help that she can get to obtain a better prosthesis.
